Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 July 2026
This policy explains how Chunka Ltd collects, uses and looks after your personal data, and the rights you have over it. It applies to enquiries you make through the Facebook and Instagram lead adverts we run for our clients.
Who we are
Chunka Ltd is a marketing and advertising business based in North Wales, with Matt Rycroft as its sole director. We run social media advertising and a lead-enquiry service on behalf of client businesses.
When you submit an enquiry through one of our adverts, Chunka Ltd is the data controller for that enquiry while it is handled through our own system. This means we are responsible for deciding how and why your data is used at that stage, and for keeping it safe.
Our details:
- Company: Chunka Ltd
- Website: chunka.co.uk
- Contact for privacy and data requests: matt@chunka.co.uk
What information we collect
When you submit an enquiry through a Facebook or Instagram lead advert we run for a client, we collect the details you provide in that form. Depending on the advert, this typically includes:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your answers about your enquiry — for example the type of event you are planning, a rough idea of guest numbers, and possible dates
We only collect the information you choose to provide in the form. We do not ask for special category data (such as health, religious or political information), and you should not include any in your answers.
How we collect it
We collect your details through instant enquiry forms on Facebook and Instagram, known as lead adverts. When you fill in one of these forms and submit it, the details you entered are passed to us. We do not collect this information in any other way.
Why we use it and our legal basis
We use your information to:
- Pass your enquiry to the relevant client business, so they can respond to you; and
- Send you an acknowledgement by text message and email, so you know your enquiry has been received.
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases for this:
- Consent — you provide your details and agree to be contacted when you submit the enquiry form.
- Legitimate interests — we have a legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and making sure they reach the business you intended to contact.
Who we share it with
We share your information only where it is needed to handle your enquiry. This includes:
- The client business your enquiry was intended for, so they can follow up with you directly;
- The service providers that deliver our text message and email acknowledgements on our behalf; and
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), as the platform the enquiry came through.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else for marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry only for as long as it is needed to handle it and for the client business to follow up with you. In practice this is normally up to 12 months, after which it is deleted, unless we are required to keep it for longer by law.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask us to delete your data;
- Object to the way we use your data; and
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, please email matt@chunka.co.uk. We will respond within the timescales set out in law.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator. You can find out more and raise a concern at ico.org.uk.
